Lockdown hasn't been easy for any us with large friend groups. With not being able to meet up with all of them at once and circumstances happening at home, its been hard to keep in touch. Even with the help of social media and messaging these days, sounds odd to admit, but it's exhausting even replying to people nowadays.
Personally I've had a lot of friendship difficulties this year. Someone who I saw almost every day last year at University had to move all the way back to the other side of the country; i've seen her once since I started my third year. My one friend from back home I haven't been able to visit because of lockdown regulations enabling us both to travel.
I feel like i'm balancing on weighing scales, one minute i'm on top and secure, then get pulled down and stuck at the bottom again.
Ive made and re-connected with some old friends. I won't lie, I've also lost some on the way too, but I believe that things happen for a reason and you have to just keep going. It hurts but you have to just, keep, going..
The one thing to remember is you can't please everyone, and sometimes you have to put yourself first every once in awhile. Its dark times like this where you have too. Who knows when this will end or what will happen. As-lomg as you stay safe, listen to government guidelines and not harm anyone around you, then do it.
As for your friends, just try to check in on them time to time, its always nice to know that someone is thinking of you. Tag them in a meme, play an online game or even have a long phone call just to catch up. They will feel appreciated by you and reflect the same emotions back to you when you need them.
Go for a walk, a bike ride, picnic in the park together. Even go food shopping and dress up, since they seem to be a popular destination for a day out now
Ofourse I am here too, im only a message and a friend away if you need to talk too :)
Stay safe everyone!
